*Disclaimer* you may make this every week from here on out and no you won’t be disappointed. This my fellow cooks is the best healthy turkey meatloaf I have tried to date. It’s moist, flavorful, comes together in a snap, and it always a fan favorite. I know meatloaf may sound like the boring bland ground beed version we are used to hearing about from back in the day but I have taken this dish up 10 notches to give you something you will have back on the dinner table. A few secrets I have include a splash of Italian dressing in the mixture as well as the way to incorporate the onions and garlic, sweat them first. I sweat the onions and garlic first because it gets the process of caramelization started which may not happen if they were mixed right in raw.

The story for this meatloaf goes back to my meal prepping days. When I was in culinary school I started my own meal prepping business where I would cook for friends and others in the area. Every time I put my turkey meatloaf on the menu it was always my top seller. I had some clients ordering multiple orders for the entire week, all meatloaf. That’s when I knew I had something special here. The added kick of Sriracha and Worcestershire sauce to the glaze add a zing that many meatloaf’s do not offer.

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs. Ground Turkey
  • 1 Onion, small diced
  • 1 tbs. Garlic, minced
  • 1 tbs. Olive oil

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbs. Ketchup
  • 2 tbs. Italian Dressing
  • 1 tsp. Salt and Pepper
  • 1 tsp. Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp. Onion Powder

For Glaze:

  • 1 cup Ketchup
  • 1 tbs. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. Honey
  • 1 tsp. Sriracha (plus more if you like a kick)

  • Pre heat oven to 375 degrees.
  • In small saute pan heat olive oil to medium high heat. Saute the garlic and onions until translucent, allow to cool slightly.
  • In large bowl combine all of the meatloaf ingredients until incorporated and place onto a greased and lined baking sheet. Form into loaf (if you see that the loaf is not holding it’s form very well right after you form on baking sheet put mixture back into bowl and add a few tbs. of bread crumbs.
  • Bake in oven for 30 minutes, meanwhile mix all glaze ingredients in bowl.
  • After 30 minutes of cooking take loaf out of oven and glaze with a layer of the glaze.
  • Place back into the oven for another 10-15 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees. Finish with remaining glaze and ENJOY!
